R. Kelly is officially free of his child support debt, that is, until his next monthly payment.
According to Kelly’s attorney, Steven Greenberg, the self-proclaimed Pied Piper of R&B has paid off his child support debt, which included more than $30k in back support plus interest. Apparently, Kelly’s late payment covers everything up until his next monthly $21,000 payment, but until then Greenberg says Kelly “doesn’t owe one more single solitary cent.”
While it remains unclear where Kelly is getting the money to cover the costs after recently crying broke, his attorney believes the extra cash is from his royalties. However, the specifics remain unclear.
In the meantime, in the wake of Kelly’s new clean slate, Greenberg insists Kelly’s child support issues are in the past. Although he tells TMZ that he can’t guarantee the singer’s payments will always be paid on time, he can assure that there will not be any more major roadblocks with this issue.
