The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Letitia Wright has earned the starring role in “Death on the Nile.”
The Agatha Christie classic will be directed by Kenneth Branagh. The story tells the journey of Hercule Poirot (also played by Branagh) solving the murder of a young heiress while vacationing in Egypt. The 25-year-old Marvel maven will be playing the role of one of the lead suspects.
Other character portrayals will be lead by Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer.
This is a great leap for Wright whose star has been shining very brightly since “Black Panther.” Now that she’s found herself on the “Most Wanted” list of actors, she explained to THR that she’s been picky about her projects. Her main concern is not to “take everything just because it may have a big name or a big budget.”
Production is expected to begin by the end of September.
