Toronto rap star #Drake announced the official lineup for his #OVOFest 2019 this week and confirmed tickets would go on sale early Friday, hyping fans up for what could be the event of the year. However, that hype quickly turned to disappointment when fans realized how much money they have to spend to see the show.
According to XXL magazine, tickets start around $383 for lawn seats and went up to $1,918 for seats closer to the stage. The prices were especially disappointing for those who were at the end of the purchase queue, as some waited up to an hour only to realize they couldn’t afford the tickets.
Twitter went in following the ticket sales and expressed their confusion on how any “regular person” would be able to afford the ticket prices imposed.
One user tweeted, “Dear Mr. Aubrey Graham, You have audacity to have me wait all this time for OVO Fest to make me try to pay rent prices to see you from the grass. Are you mad?? Best, Momo”. Another Twitter user posted, “Really sucks how Drake is doing his fans this year with these ridiculous prices. Goes to show the artist doesn’t really care about the fans, just the money… #OVOFest.”
For those of you willing to spend your life savings on #OVO Fest tickets, let the rest of us broke folks know how it went!
